Round and round and up and down.
Jun. 25th, 2009 12:26 pmTHIS IS SO WRONG IT'S RIGHT! Team Jacob, FTW!
Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are apparently going to team up on a "Dark Shadows" remake. Not sure if I have an opinion about that.
"Design for Living" was kinda... meh. The actress who played Gilda was like Debra Messing with a British accent on crank. Whenever she was onstage she chewed scenery, but the play would just... drag. The two guys were so camp you could cut it with a knife. The last scene was just not good, because it was just "Let's torture the establishment guy until he runs screaming from the room!". Katie and I suddenly were very interested in our nails and the program and had no interest in watching Leo, Otto and Gilda make Earnest have a heart attack. I don't like argument for argument's sake- that's just lame. Sorry, Noel, you lose. Looking forward to seeing "Easy Virtue", though.
Last night was fun though- Katie and her boyfriend and I went to Vapiano for dinner (wait a minute- "German-based Italian chain"? Whu~?). They'd never been, so that was cool (I love introducing people to new places). Brian paid, which was sweet. When we got to the theater, I saw this girl who looked familiar and it turned out she was one of my high school English students in Japan! We hugged and shrieked and I got her number and hopefully we'll keep in touch. It was so funny because she said, "You haven't changed at all!" and I opened my mouth to point out that she was wrong... and realized I really hadn't! At least appearance-wise. The last time she saw me I had my hair pulled back, some floopy overgrown bangs, and was wearing glasses. And last night the glasses were different, but everything else was still... how depressing.
The apartment is coming along nicely. :)
