lillbet: (Ooh!)
Hey folks. I was offline and looped on Nyquil all weekend, and trust me- it was a very good thing. Really. I feel tons better (though not totally healthy) and able to face the world- able, I just don't want to right now. Public "I'm sorry" to [personal profile] lethokis but at 1:57:36 pm on Friday (to be fair, I said that would happen in my entry Friday) I was out the door and didn't log in again until yesterday.

This weekend was very low key. I dragged myself to brunch at DCita's Sunday, Benifer came over on Sunday to put the bathroom shelf back up and watch Iron Chef (ALTON, I HEART YOU), and last night I managed to get in and out of VA for Chia-Chia's bbq. My sense of taste is shot, but the pint of Haagen Dazs dark chocolate ice cream was good anyway. Drank a lot of Gatorade. At some point I will probably post reviews of all the movies I watched this weekend. Bananas, I tell you. I tried to read MaryJanice Davidson's Fish Out of Water, but I'm over the tough bitch heroine thing. So, so over it. Started Mr. Muo's Traveling Couch by the guy who wrote Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress. So far, so good.

So Ben, while putting the shelf back up, drilled two holes in the wall that went clear into my bedroom, something I didn't notice until I was getting ready for bed. I was totally out of it at that point and was convinced that I was seeing things because of the Nyquil, but next morning- HOLES IN THE WALL! I was all "GAH! TEH HOLES!" *stagger* *clutch head* *koff* *wheeze* but luckily, I bought spackle when I moved in and it filled the holes quite nicely. :)

I joined [livejournal.com profile] ontd_startrek and after opening up my LJ friend's page this morning I was a little annoyed at how it's eating the page, but then I saw this gif (TEH EYEBROW! *swoon*), and I'm thinking I'll suck it up a bit longer.

Someone on there tried to get "GQ Motherfucker" on Urban Dictionary and failed- probably because they were too specific? (the Trek cast are not, I'm thinking, the only GQ motherfuckers out there...). So adorkable.

Putting up more writing tonight and catching up on Pulped Fictions. Or sleeping. Will see how I feel.

Everyone have a good weekend?

In 1897 on this day, Dracula, by Bram Stoker, (books by this author) was published. Stoker added several chilling details to the age-old vampire tale: that the undead show no reflection in a mirror, that they shun garlic, and that they can be killed only by a stake through the heart.

Without him, none of this Twi-crack madness would have been possible. ;)
