Oh, the Urban-ity.

Hey folks. I was offline and looped on Nyquil all weekend, and trust me- it was a very good thing. Really. I feel tons better (though not totally healthy) and able to face the world- able, I just don't want to right now. Public "I'm sorry" to
lethokis but at 1:57:36 pm on Friday (to be fair, I said that would happen in my entry Friday) I was out the door and didn't log in again until yesterday.
This weekend was very low key. I dragged myself to brunch at DCita's Sunday, Benifer came over on Sunday to put the bathroom shelf back up and watch Iron Chef (ALTON, I HEART YOU), and last night I managed to get in and out of VA for Chia-Chia's bbq. My sense of taste is shot, but the pint of Haagen Dazs dark chocolate ice cream was good anyway. Drank a lot of Gatorade. At some point I will probably post reviews of all the movies I watched this weekend. Bananas, I tell you. I tried to read MaryJanice Davidson's Fish Out of Water, but I'm over the tough bitch heroine thing. So, so over it. Started Mr. Muo's Traveling Couch by the guy who wrote Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress. So far, so good.
So Ben, while putting the shelf back up, drilled two holes in the wall that went clear into my bedroom, something I didn't notice until I was getting ready for bed. I was totally out of it at that point and was convinced that I was seeing things because of the Nyquil, but next morning- HOLES IN THE WALL! I was all "GAH! TEH HOLES!" *stagger* *clutch head* *koff* *wheeze* but luckily, I bought spackle when I moved in and it filled the holes quite nicely. :)
I joined
ontd_startrek and after opening up my LJ friend's page this morning I was a little annoyed at how it's eating the page, but then I saw this gif (TEH EYEBROW! *swoon*), and I'm thinking I'll suck it up a bit longer.
Someone on there tried to get "GQ Motherfucker" on Urban Dictionary and failed- probably because they were too specific? (the Trek cast are not, I'm thinking, the only GQ motherfuckers out there...). So adorkable.
Putting up more writing tonight and catching up on Pulped Fictions. Or sleeping. Will see how I feel.
Everyone have a good weekend?

Date: 2009-05-26 03:24 pm (UTC)I've got some Halls to suck on, but I'm pretty much better. UpstairsLady has it too and in her own words wouldn't wish it on anyone, so she got it instead of you, apparently. *lol*
Teh eyebrow is ♥ I hope someone will take the time to put together a vid of all of his eyebrow moments and post it on YouTube. That would be so amazing...

Date: 2009-05-26 03:41 pm (UTC)And YAY FOR BEATING TEH SICK! For it is damnable and unpleasant and has NO PLACE IN OUR LIVES! ER, "LUNGS"!
Eyebrow dancing is a srs skill, bb. ♥

Date: 2009-05-26 03:48 pm (UTC)Abso-freakin'-lutely! I used to dazzle (and yes, I mean that in the most Edward Cullen-ish way possible) people (by which I mean man-shaped people) by coyly arching an eyebrow.
It's my "you cannot be srs" face. ;)

Date: 2009-05-26 04:01 pm (UTC)I can sort of do it, but there's squintiness involved and it sort of kills the effect, sadly. ;p

Date: 2009-05-26 04:05 pm (UTC)I was once flirting with this guy, and I did the eyebrow lift thinking I had moved in for the kill, but he totally did it back to me, and I ended up ROFLMAO. Which killed all the flirting mojo but made him my friend for life.

That's so awesome. And I do NOT have enough icons...

Date: 2009-05-26 03:46 pm (UTC)Alton is pretty awesome!
With the spackle and paint, no one will ever know the holes were there :) (lol, the spell check on firefox keeps wanting to correct spackle to sparkle.) *is mildly amused*
The eye twitch would make a great icon, lol.

You make animated icons, doncha? Go for it! I'd be grateful, so would half the female population of DW and LJ, I'm sure. ;D

I looked it up on urbandictionary and it says
Maybe it was added later?

Date: 2009-05-26 06:27 pm (UTC)That's what I'm thinking. Or else, as I said, it was rejected for being "too specific", or the ONTD entry was a dupe. Or something.
All that said, I like "GQ motherfucker". I plan to add it to my vocabulary. Right after I hold that Karl Urban film fest... I have to watch "DOOM"? *sigh*

And Drecksau could be dirty pig *lol* or *looks it up* motherfucker, depending on the group that is using the word.

Date: 2009-05-26 07:11 pm (UTC)Honestly, this crossposting thing is getting to be a bit much. There's a person on my LJ flist I absolutely adore who will have nothing to do with DW and so I continue because of her, but toggling between two identical entries on two different sites is getting kinda... eh.

And is that Jackson's Avatar 'do? Are we kvelling?

Date: 2009-05-26 05:10 pm (UTC)IKR? It's madness, I tell you, MADNESS. Someone, thank dawg, actually transcribed the Letterman list of things that Spock should say in the sequel or... something:
10. Warp Factor 8! Arby’s Closes in 10 minutes.
9. We’re entering a breach in the space-time continuum or a wormhole or some crazy crap like that.
8. Set phasers to fabulous!
7. Welcome aboard the starship enterprise – today’s in flight movie is big momma’s house 2!
6. We’ve been hijacked by Somali pirates!
5. Sir, i’m going to need Saturday off to attend my nephew’s bar mitzvah.
4. My baby-daddy is a Vulcan – on the next 'Maury!'
3. The enterprise just hit a goose, we’re gonna have to land in the Hudson.
2. Live long, prosper, and keep on hangin’ and bangin’.
1. I find your choice of hairpiece highly illogical.
I don't care. It's funneh.
(no subject)
Date: 2009-05-26 05:37 pm (UTC)I should be able to stay away from it, though honestly right now I'm more concerned I'll wind up with some weird lung fungus from all the old crap I'm having to sieve through.
1. I find your choice of hairpiece highly illogical.
I'm liking that one only because it actually could, in theory, come out of his mouth. By that I mean I could probably come up with a situation where he'd say that. A highly unlikely situation... and one with a whole lotta slapstick, but a situation nonetheless.

Date: 2009-05-26 06:49 pm (UTC)Thankfully, my new fandom project won't be able to be started until after work... which is actually in a little over an hour. Hot damn. I've got to make a t-shirt. :D
Staying warm isn't an issue. Now, staying cool might be a problem, but Alabama does warm pretty damn good. :)

Date: 2009-05-26 08:28 pm (UTC)How's the job going, by the way? Did they get their acts together and make you all official-like?
(no subject)
Date: 2009-05-26 08:37 pm (UTC)Yes! They did finally get their acts together and I'm working 20 with Donnelly doing archiving and then another 11ish where I've been for the last year. I'm loving the archiving. It's a bit hard to read some of the letters I have to work with, and the ones I can read are kinda dull, but I get to research the writers and stuff they talk about... it's really very cool for me. :)

Date: 2009-05-31 09:34 pm (UTC)I've been totally obsessed with making Trek icons lately and NOT using the names of the characters/DEEP MEANINGFUL song lyrics/cheesy shit.
In the meantime, LOOK WHAT JOSH MADE ME!
