1.) Last night was a dark and stormy night. WoooooooOOOOOOOOOHooooooo! O.o Kewl!

2.) Thanks for all the support and good wishes. My head feels a little less swollen (har.) and the large bruise on the side of my head is no longer yellow. Ew.

On Saturday morning I've got an agent showing me the house across the street- curious to see what $850K buys you these days- then Adina is coming with me while an agent she recommended shows me a bunch of places. I would so SO love to get out of here by the end of the month if possible, so if I find something in the next few weeks I'll be actively looking for someone to take my place. Someone with a drumset, who drums all night and sleeps very heavily all day, but who is very neat. ;)

3.) Last night I watched the season (Series? They've been alluding to a 9th season, which they've already shot a few episodes of but which the network hasn't greenlit.) finale of "Scrubs". Argh. It was cute- all about J.D.'s last day at the hospital.

Toward the end there was a nice long scene featuring J.D. dreaming about marrying Elliot, having kids, hanging out with the Turks and Perry and Jordan at Christmas with all of their kids, all set to "Book of Love" by Peter Gabriel, which has the power to cause even the most hard hearted bitch to weep (you might recognize it from one of the scenes toward the end of the American version of "Shall We Dance"). This hardened bitch, however, did not weep- too tired and dehydrated, apparently. It would have been nice, but it went on way, way too long and was looped and repeated, etc. Lame ending.

That said, I'm sad it's all over. It was fun, inventive, colorful, quiptastic, and managed to treat medicine and life with a generous measure of humor. Now I guess I have to buy the DVDs and watch Zach Braff go from geeky to cute over and over and over and over...

I just found the end scene on YouTube. Watch it and see if it makes you cry. I think today it might. :C

It's funny, I can still find a rerun of "Scrubs" on tv (I will so miss having cable) and this season wasn't my favorite, but I'll just miss it so much- just knowing a new episode would be on at some point during the week was oddly comforting. It was like the last bastion of intelligent humor, pathos, and... I think I need to go back to the hospital because I'm about to burst into tears at work.

Awww, the video was sweet. I am such a sap though and I always wanted him to end up wth Elliot so I kind of like the ending.

Yeah, I loved the episode a few weeks ago where she was mad at him for not being romantic and at the end he finally said he loved her in a way she wanted to hear. They were sweet together. I always assumed they'd hook up in the end, did NOT see the Sean and Kim thing though- that was odd.

House hunting sounds like fun. It would be so sweet if a drum player or wild party person rented your old place. *lol*

It should be good. I need to look around and see what else is out there.

Also, my gym buddy Lucy (aka "One of the Best Damn Doctors in DC") has a mom (shock!) who is a therapist and I'm going to see if she can squeeze me in next week. Might be good to unload on someone trained to take it for a change.

And I think you're right about the folks upstairs- it was very quiet last night- I slept in my own bed and woke up 5 minutes before my alarm. I think they're planning something awful. Meanwhile, I keep bursting into tears, so I probably will need to go back to the hospital next week. And I can't remember if I gave them a security deposit, in which case I should get that sorted because I will want it back. Too much stuff.

Sorry, was that TMI or are you just busy at work? Like I should be?

Yes, I am at work and I will pay for my procrastination later. *lol*

But the walk through Grant Park with the crab apple trees in bloom was totally worth it.

I hope it all gets better for you. There is something going on there that isn't normal for you. I'm glad you have a name of a good doctor. *hugs*

Thanks Sue. :)

Yeah, I was talking to another agent and actually said, aloud, that I'm not buying right now because I'm not in love with my job. And saying it made me realize the truth of it (although saying it in the office wasn't the best idea ever, probably!). I'm still doing it, though, and it's just not good. I'm not happy, I'm not thriving, I'm just existing. Hopefully I can get a shot of courage and put a plan together for how to improve things, because I'm wasting my energy just going in circles all the time like this.

A walk, you say? Great idea. I think I'll do the same in a bit. :)

850k in some parts of California will buy you a very nice place. It will buy you a decent place in the Sunset District of San Francisco. (It is close to the beach) I linked to one here (http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/2186-33Rd-Ave_San-Francisco_CA_94116_1107963962), for looking purposes. Here (http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/2306-Cecilia-Ave_San-Francisco_CA_94116_1107079091) is another one :)

HarperCollins has offices there. There are several newspapers and niche book publishers as well.

Either way, I hope you are able to find something :D

Yeah well, I think I would have enjoyed it more if they'd mixed in bits of them together from over the years instead, because seeing the same stuff over and over just bored me. I'm blaming the concussion. Xp

By the way, read the bit about your army days. Thanks for that. :)

When is Burn Notice coming back? We need to do a massive pimp this time around.
From: [identity profile] lillbet.livejournal.com
I'll be watching it... somewhere. At the gym? Maybe at Ghina's. *sigh*

Yeah, let's pimp. I really should hit the mall tonight (with all that's happened I keep forgetting to shop for Mother's Day and my mom doesn't take kindly to being un-gifted on these occasions) but at some point I plan on unleashing a lot of icons. And posting clips on this journal. And then running over to DW to hide out from the fallout. *lol*

OMG! THE SHOW STARTS JUNE4th AT NINE! ONE HOUR EARLIER! W00t!

Hey you! Wow, looking at houses...yay! I had a lot of fun when we did that, but we weren't spending...er, your kind of money! ;)

I never really got into Scrubs although I watched it regularly just because for a while. It's always sad when a show ends though.

Pfft. I'm aiming WAY lower. I'm renting- I'm not in love with my job and I don't see myself shelling out close to 1mil for a house I don't want to stay in for the rest of my life.

"Scrubs", for me, was like one of those friends you don't see all that often but when you do everything just falls into place again. The video I posted has everything about the show I love- good music, moments that threaten to become sappy but then veer off into silly, etc. It's fun. One episode at the end of Season 7 was a take on the "Princess Bride" and it was HILARIOUS.

Definitely worth it to buy the DVDs at some point and remember all the good stuff. :)

I've had this damn song in my head all day. I think it might have to be my first dance song (henh. I have a song... and a dress*... that's not psycho, is it?).

I don't think I've weighed in yet on how much your upstairs people suck! So: they do. Suck.

$850K?!? And this is after the bursting of the housing bubble? My lord.

Hope the head is getting better, and good luck with the house-hunting.

Oh you ain't heard NOTHING! There's a new wrinkle in play, if you will. When they wrote me the termination email they didn't mention an exit inspection OR my security deposit. I think they're hoping I forgot about it. I have a nagging feeling they let my rent go for a month, in return, but I doubt we would have done that without signing something or amending the lease, so I'm going to call my bank to verify there's been a check cashed every month since I moved in. WHEEEEE! FUN! XD

The head is getting much better, thanks. My parents are at the farm for a long weekend and are letting me sleep at their place, which helps a great deal. Tomorrow I get to start the adventure! YAY!
