1.) Today I saw 5 apartments. One of which was pretty damn cool, except that it's located in BFE Maryland and I would not feel comfy walking around there alone at night. Ah well. Got a month and miles to go before I sleep. I'll find something.

2.) Saturday, Kiki (high school friend), her friend Terry and I went to Black Ankle Vineyards in Mt. Airy- owned by Kiki's childhood friend and her husband. My gawd, that was fun. A wine tasting, a cheese plate, and a chill on the patio later (which reminded me of Cali so bad I was in awe) we rolled home, dropped off Terry and picked up Janna (another long lost HS friend) and went out for dinner. Frozen margs and good chatter ftw.

3.) Ran out of space on my harddrive. YIKES. O.o Might try and get Bran to help me do an upgrade on the Shuttle.

4.) Funny story- I saw a cute pair of Reef flip flops with gold straps I thought would be great for cute caj, and couldn't figure out if the 7 or 8 fit better, so I bought them both. Then returned the 8's. Was getting ready to go out the other night and slid them on, only to find out I'd returned one of the 7's by mistake. That was Thursday. Finally got that sorted today. Xp

5.) Watched Kenneth Branagh in "Wallander". The man is awesome. I hate that he and Emma Thompson didn't last, but damn...

I totally passed on a pair of Prada sandals this weekend. I'm both disappointed and sort of proud of myself. ;) (I did buy other shoes though. Heh.)

R is a huge fan of the Wallander books, and he was a bit disappointed with the series. Still Branagh was terrific in the role.

I'M PROUD OF YOU. Yeah, I was looking at jobs- I want to look at a pair of Pradas and not have visions of sleeping in a cardboard box under a bridge. In the meantime, I will live vicariously through you. ;)

Branagh was great, and I loved the cinematography and the tone of the production. It was so dreary and blue and cold. There was one seen in which Wallander and another fellow were walking in a field of grain, blowing in the wind and it was just... wow. They used a RED camera, and I'm totally going on Wikipedia and reading all about them tomorrow. And then going to the library and getting one of the books. :D

I recommend Firewall which is the only one I've read the one that's on TV tonight. :D

The Henning Mankell books do make Skane/Ystad seem very bleak. (It reminds me a bit of the Coen Brothers vision of Minnesota in Fargo). But Branagh actually made it seem even more bleak than in the books.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks! Agh, damn time difference, it's so *yawn*.

I thought it was going to be all "Smilla's Sense of Snow" but they injected a lot of style and beauty into the everything. Was Branagh also directing? If so, he rocks more, dammit.

1) What is BFE Maryland? I'm sure you'll find something soon :)

3) Will friend the journal and give it a read :)

4) They sell some really affordable portable hard drives that are small in footprint size. A terabyte drive (1000GB) will run you under 200 dollars. For comparison, it will hold close to 100,000 8 MP pictures.

6) I often wonder what the issue is when two people, great in their own right, don't work out together. It can't always be ego right?

1.) Found 5 more I'm calling today, so cross your fingers! One month to go as of Wednesday, but I'd love to wrap this up sooner.

3.) Thanks for being supportive, but no worries if it's not your thing. :)

4.) I'll keep that in mind. The bulk of the memory went to graphics stuff, so I was thinking of burning everything to a DVDR, or a 2G thumbdrive, but also it would probably be easy to just double the memory in the computer.

6.) Nope. Generally the man cheats and it all goes to hell. Not sure if that was the case here, though.

1. You will find something. There are lots out there and when it is right you will know.
2. WAHOO! Sounds like fun. My high school friends are my friends for life, other people have come and gone, but I always go back to the friends I grew up with :) Lots of drinks! Are you hung over today too? *iz dead*
3. Oh noes! My FIL did something to mine to add a WHOLE bunch of space. I don't know what it was, but he has some program that adds more space or something :S

1.) Thanks, hon! I saw your response this morning before I left for work and as I was getting on the train I got a call about a studio in a building I'd actually want to live in for cheaper than I am paying now (although adding in utilities, it might well be the same, but that's okay)- it might be a touch small, but if it feels right, I'm going to apply- after all, I don't need a place I want to spend MORE time in, right? I just need a spot to hang my hat, rest my head, and cook a meal... and shower and check my email. We're not talking hardcore home living here.

2.) WAHOO! indeed! I lost touch with these ladies eons ago, and as much as I revile Facebook, I am beyond thrilled it brought us back together. They were fun, wonderful people. I spent most of Sunday recovering. ;D

3.) I went to Best Buy Sunday afternoon and it sounds like, though Josh and Elizabeth have the right idea (external harddrives) I really shouldn't be putting out that kind of money right now (especially since most of the memory is being taken up with graphics stuff), so instead I'm probably going to get Bran to add memory like your FIL did.

1. Yes! Small and Cozy is good AND less to clean which is a win :).

2. Facebook is so nice for reuniting people. I am glad you had fun and DUDE, I was so off with my days. I realized that after I posted and was like "D'oh". My head hurts.

3. Good idea! The extra space he added so far has been wonderful. My computer went from 17%-25% up to 80% and it seems much happier too. :)

1.) It makes sense. I like dinner parties, but I'm not a big party thrower of late, so instead of pretending I am and thinking I need SO MUCH OMG!SPACE I'm probably better off getting something small and me-sized and if the building has a party room, I use that instead. :)

2.) I know! It's nice when folks finally connect. I have a few friends on there who keep saying "DUDE! LET'S DO SOMETHING!" and nothing happens, so it was great that Kiki took the time to get me involved in her visit home, especially since we hadn't seen each other in, like, 2 decades. Wow. O.o (And no worries, I'm the last person to mock you for getting days mixed up.)

3.) Yeah, I'm thinking so. Hopefully it will stop working at the speed of stupid once that gets sorted. :)

1. Good luck with the apartment hunting. Is it fun, or a pain in the neck?

2. isn't Mt Airy something famous - do, I do not want to Google it :)

4. that sounds like something I would do *lol*

5. I can't help imagining Kenneth as Lockhart now. Maybe it's because his name is Kenneth rather than Ken.

1.) A bit of both. I'm not a patient person and in a perfect world this would be sorted quickly- as in all in one day. Still, gotta go to work and there's not a snowball's chance the landlords will be okay with me leaving sooner than previously agreed on, so there's no sense in getting all worked up, right?

2.) OMG! READ THIS! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Airy,_Maryland) (Seriously, click it- no, it does not go to a Rickroll. I promise.) Some cool stuff there I didn't know.

4.) *lol* What's funny is that the other mismatched pair was not, as an employee told me, shipped off, but sitting on the lower rack. Where I did not look on Thursday... *facepalm*

5.) That's probably it. "Kenneth" sound pretentious and snotty, but I can't imagine Branagh being either, or going by "Ken".

1. What is your move out date? I'm sure that you are stuck paying rent until then. They sound like they are the kind of people to do that to you.

5. Pretentious is the word I was looking for. But of course, I'm sure he is a nice guy.

1.) The move-out date is June 20, but I'm sure if I let them know I can leave sooner that won't be a problem, especially if I suggest some folks to take the room over, which I'm happy to do if it gets me out there quicker. Xp

5.) Are you sure the word you were looking for was not "British"? ;)

4.) Yeah, at least I didn't end up with 2 lefts or 2 rights in different sizes. That would have been way WAY more embarrassing! Wearing them today and they are ♥!

1.) Thanks! :)

2.) It was. We were all laughing because when we were in hs/college we didn't have the resources you folks do now. Kiki opined that at the very LEAST it would have been awesome to have a cellphone. And yes, a pitcher of frozen margs has much win in it. ♥

4.) Yeah. That was wikkid silly. The employee who finally helped me was a woman, which just goes to show guys are idiots (the other three were a pothead/a manager who thought the other pair had been shipped back to HQ/and a really... dumb guy). Xp
