GODDAMIT MONDAY, YOU LITTLE BITCH!

Just heard the news on the radio on my way home. VERY UPSET BECAUSE:

a.) I was just saving up to buy a subscription for myself as a birthday present, and

b.) That magazine is a fucking INSTITUTION and the fucking VOGUE of food magazines. WTF?!

3.) I WANTED TO WORK THERE SOMEDAY, DAMMIT.

If I could go back in time I'd club Rachael Ray like a goddamn baby seal and run fucking Guy Fieri over with the Nissan if it would mean saving this magazine. DAMMIT.DAMMIT. DAMMIT.

I have to go and eat a pint of Ben&Jerry's now, will you excuse me?

If it's any consolation, I totally thought of you when I saw that story.

I guess they're keeping Epicurious (http://epicurious.com) going for a while though.

DAMMIT HEMA, WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO NOW??? DREAMS. DASHED. *cries*

I've been using that site off and on for years, but saw your message and finally joined. Sadly, I turned off the popup blocker, so I'm afraid to go back, but thanks for reminding me it was there.

I was registered over there ages ago, but totally forgot my password and such. I just thought of it today, after I read the story re: Gourmet.

Next thing you know, it will be The New Yorker. *sigh*

I had a subscription to the New Yorker when I was in college. Loved that mag, still do.

I still have a subscription. It's one of three mags I can't really imagine being without. (The other two are The Atlantic Monthly and *gasp* Sports Illustrated...I'm eclectic, dontchaknow?)

IT'S NOT THE SAAAAAAAAAME!

Bon Appetite and Food&Wine are all very well and good, but Gourmet is the GO TO for cooking conundrums, gorgeous photography, recipes that don't make you break down into hot noisy tears and general awesomeness.

*snif* Where do I find this Fine Cooking you speak of?

I've seen them in pretty much any bookstore, and they're fun. The recipes can be kinda involved, but I've had good luck with everything I've ever tried. Plus they're, y'know, fun to read while eating pie and ice cream. :p

BOOOOOOO. I was so bummed when I read that! Of all the magazines out there, this is the one they decide to close? Where will we get gorgeous photos of super-yummy food? :(((

Ugh, Mondays suck, trufax.

I heard about this and immediately thought of you. See, you've already instilled yourself in my brain as the person I know most into the glories of good food. Somehow that connection made me realize intuitively that you'd be frustrated by this. . . and now here you are.
