Off I go! And now. And there I go. Annnnnd...

For the first time in longer than I can remember, I got a full night's sleep. And woke up at a reasonable hour. Now if I could just tear myself away from my laptop and get some more RL shit done. Hah.

I really think they should have called the movie based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' book "John Carter of Mars", and not just "John Carter", which sounds like a story of a white man with a briefcase. :p

Watching the "It Gets Better" documentary on MTV. They showed some wonderful and inspiring stories, but the best quote is "It doesn't get better, YOU get stronger." Amen to that.

Show crush!

1.) Opened a Hotmail account to use it for selling things on craigslist. First to go (I hope) a pair of black leather stiletto boots I haven't worn in ages. They're in good enough shape, I guess, I just don't wear them. If no takers, amma make someone at the Goodwill REAL happeh. Want them? They're size 6.5, I'm charging $75 for them, and they'd be the finishing touch to a killer Halloween costume, or be the perfect footwear for your next date night with a wrap dress or pretty much anything.

2.) New season of Being Human starts this weekend. "New" for the slack ass fangirl who hasn't already seen it online. :P

3.) Just had a really lovely chat on FB with a very supportive friend. Love that. Sadly, we chatted right through the golden hour between 10am and noon when they (ie Jess) say is the best time to apply for jobs. Dang. DANG THE TORPEDOES. Doing it anyway, before another week goes by.

4.) Loving "Smash"- it's like "Glee" for grownups with lots of Broadway star power (Christian Borle! Megan Hilty!) and pretty boys. And Jack Davenport talking in his regular accent. WHICH IS ACCENT OSOM.

5.) Got tired of wearing sneakers all the time, so I went to DSW and bought some flats: 2 pairs of sparkly Steve Maddens, 1 pair of Taryn Roses with flowers, and 1 pair of metallic Kenneth Cole Reactions with bows. Used a coupon on the KCs, which I can wear to work, but not sure about the other three. Don't need two pairs of shoes that are the same color AND basic style. Also? Can't really be buying $100 ballet flats. Will come to grips with this. Eventually...

Can't post on LJ so... yeah. Funny, I was just thinking of getting a paid account on LJ yesterday.

ETA: Oh EXCELLENT. So first I can't post on LJ, now I can't edit on LJ. I can enable comments, but... srsly, guys?

1.) Couldn't sleep, watching Graham Norton- old episode with Colin Farrell, Rihanna, some guy from Wales I honestly don't know (Oh, Rhod Gilbert! Nope, still don't know him.), and Daniel Radcliffe (they found a guy in the audience who looks like him to be a standin until DanRad swings by after he walks the red carpet for HP:DH 1 or 2). Anyway, moved to post because Colin Farrell was shilling LONDON BOULEVARD. I am ENRAGED about this, let me tell you WHY:

Random blather under a cut for length. )

2.) Tried on some clothes yesterday because, well, I have nothing to wear to work today. I have one pair of pants I can wear, and I thought I'd really like a dress so I tried on a bunch at Ann Taylor. I've gained SO much weight that, well, *whine* *moan* whatevs. I'm the biggest I've ever been, I'm terribly out of shape, and I've got three batches of citrus curd in the fridge which I very much enjoyed making, but it occurs to me that as much fun as I had cooking it, I've really got to start jarring the stuff and giving it away, because just having it in the fridge seems to have added to my weight issues (What? It's butter, eggs, sugar, and juice cooked on the stove and it's SCRUMMY on the scones I have in the freezer. SCRUMMY. Dammit. And sitting about all weekend with the laptop and the rain did not help things.

Anyway, didn't buy the stuff I tried on because most of it wasn't on sale, was a size that I'm not happy about (will get over that shortly, but buying a $100 "fat dress"? Ugh.), and the salesgirl did a shit job of taking care of me. I used to work retail, and if you want to make your sales goals you don't just start a dressing room for someone and then disappear, you CHECK ON THEM. Especially if the person has brought you an armload of clothes and has a store card and is not afraid to use it.

Also, I AM ANNOYED because the curd is just not coming out how I want it to- creamy and opaque. It's delicious, but it's transluscent and gelatinous, which is what I see at the store, but at ABC Kitchen the lemon curd was thick and closer to fruit butter or clotted cream in terms of texture. Actually, last batch I made was pretty close- could be a touch brighter, but of the three it's the closest. One more batch and I should have it down. One. more. batch. *wibble*

4.) OOH. NEW GLEE PROJECT AVAILABLE ON ONDEMAND. It aired less than 12 hours ago and now I CAN HAZ WATCH. I already know the outcome for this ep, but it's the journey, bb. (Yeah, I'm not reviewing these any more, but I'm still watching.) And jsyk, the spoilers for who got booted in 'Generosity' were wrong. And I'm glad. :)

5.) Seeing promos for "Win Win", "Just Peck", and the incredibly amazing looking "BURKE AND HARE" which will probably do poorly because Americans have no sense of humor about grave-robbing. Srsly, UK-ians, stop with the fighting and get back to making awesome cultural contributions. I beg you.

Agh. I think I'm just going to shower, pop some Advil and go in early today. Happy Monday folks!
lillbet: (Goofy.)

WHEEEEEEEE! XD

1.) And, just as soon as the trend caught steam, proof that it is coming to an end: "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead"? SRSLY?

*scampers off to read the copy of "P&P&Z" that her dad gave her for her birthday*

2.) Taylor Swift is Bella Swan in... FIRELIGHT (starts with a beer commercial, so lower the volume- trust me):

3.) Random, but I find it strange that the new Volvo ads featuring New Moon clips are all about the "understated elegance" and beauty of a Volvo, and features clips of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart cut to look like they are a romance for all time. Did they read the books? Rly? Because the books I read featured a weak-willed protagonist and her stalker-y boyfriend. Just sayin'.

Think Smeyer knew what she was doing when she first put the word "Volvo" in her books?

OOH! SOMETHING SHINY!

1.) "Dollhouse" last night was totally bent. Topher finally faced some consequences for being flip with Sierra. Good. He's too snotty for his own good sometimes.

2.) "White Collar" (new USA show) was good. Slashers will have a field day, but they shouldn't count Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen) out- she's pretty cool.

3.) Put off Ren Fair until tomorrow- the last day- because it was supposed to rain liek whoa today. GUESS WHAT "IT" IS NOT DOING?! Fuck.

4.) Made some dark chocolate fudge and am waiting obsessively for it to cool so I can try some.

5.) ZOMBIE WALK IN TWO HOURS! YAYZ! Man, this icon is getting a workout. I SHOULD HAVE A ZOMBIE TAG!

5.) NEW MOON TRAILER OF AWESOME. IT WAS BANNED. IT IS AWESOME. WATCH IT. NOW.

Heeere comes a-NOTHER OOOOOONE! Or two.

1.) Dracula legend revived by Bram Stoker. And apparently they are bring "unsexy" back:

"Dracula was nothing like that. He was old and hunched over, had hair on his palms, and bad breath," New York screenwriter Ian Holt told AFP.

"He was out of the grave, he smelt like death," adds 51-year-old Canadian Dacre Stoker, great grand nephew of Bram and a former teacher. "We're going back to the original characters."

2.) Just saw a preview for "The Prisoner"- the new miniseries based on the 1960's series starting Patrick McGoohan. Here's the longer preview they showed at ComiCon. The show is on AMC starting on Nov. 15. I don't know whether to be excited (because it looks awesome) or annoyed that this is yet another reason for me to sit on my ass... Anyway, give it a look- Sir Ian McKellan will be in DC next week at the Shakespeare Theater (can't afford a ticket right now, they start at $95). Glad he's doing sometihng beyond "Magneto".

You don't have one *hint* of self-esteem, do you?

"Lost Girls" was... YOU GUISE. OMG YOU GUISE.
If you like Damon you are in for a MAJOR treat. TRUFAX.

I left [livejournal.com profile] tvd_fans because, well, I'm not half the fangirl some of them are and they're being nice now but I could see a pale moon rising at some point and my ass getting flamed into oblivion. So I'm bugging you guys instead. YAY. (Also, as I mentioned to [livejournal.com profile] nadinetink a bunch of members over there are in Canada, where the show apparently comes on an hour earlier than on the East Coast. THIS WILL NOT STAND!

WARNING: What is under the cut is a bit jumbled, but then so was the episode. I meant to write a run down of fave moments, but it turned into a recap. SORRY! BUT NOT REALLY BECAUSE I POSTED IT ANYWAY!

What, did you mail it to Rome or something? )

Random: in case you haven't already devoured these, have some Bonnie & Damon, and some Matt & Elena. Basically, Smith wrote some little lost moment fics. Cute, nothing special. Had to *lol* at Matt having $27 in his wallet for his first date with Elena. Back in 1990, I'm sure that was enough for a movie and dinner, but now? Hale to the naw.

I can't wait to start singing and dancing and maybe even putting on the Ritz a little bit.

Stuff under cuts is short. And yes, second entry of the day. WHUT?!

1.) Chris Pine is rumored to be taking over as Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan. I posted about it on [livejournal.com profile] ontd_startrek (apologies to those flisters on that comm who are experiencing crossposting difficulties, but I'M REALLY EFFING THRILLED ABOUT THIS!) Paramount confirmed it in Variety and Yahoo! News had it on their front page yesterday, so obviously it's true. Obviously. (I'M BEING WILDLY OPTIMISTIC HERE. HUMOR ME.) That would be amazing- not only would it wipe the slate clean of all that Affleck-fail (he really needs to stick with directing) but now is the time for some Jack Ryan. He's the thinking Bond- a political animal with patriotic sensibilities, a love of family, etc. but not annoying in an overwrought Republican way. Frankly with all the shit going on in the world it's time he came back. I'm hoping Pine gets to play Ryan Jr. and they do "The Teeth of the Tiger". Actually, I don't care- any Ryan will do. ANY.

2.) Note to the folks who make "Glee"- please start making episodes that last for several days, because a mere 42 minutes cannot contain the awesomeness. Last night's episode? GENIUS. Cannot wait for next week and have pre-ordered the first season on DVD. (Cast was apparently in DC recently- WHY DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS???)

I like minorities so much I'm thinking of moving to California to become one! )

3.) Oh, TVD, you're like a Twinkie. One that's been made from scratch by the Barefoot Contessa or something. I want to wave you off as fluff, but the fluff is so so good. Watched "You're Undead to Me" last Sunday while recovering from hellride.

It didn't have to be this way. )

Random, but I had no idea the CW has a music page for their shows. Have you seen this? IT'S AWESOME.

4.) Reading "Touch of Dead"- I love the idea that CHarris wrote fanfic for her own series. :D

Lady Gagagagagaguh.

1.) Got back from Kelli and Andy's dinner thing and caught the last 30 mins. of SNL. Oh. em. gee. you. guise.

I take back anything bad I may have ever said about Lady GaGa. She's fucking amazing. Fucking. Amazing. (Wait a minute, I don't think I've said anything bad about her. In fact, I think I raved about her performance at the VMAs. Anyway...)

She freestyled her last number (the costume was a kinetic sculpture and it was awesome... until she sat down at the piano) and did a skit with Andy Samberg (both of them in her infamous bubble dress) that made me laugh harder than I've laughed at SNL for a very. long. time.

And Ryan Reynolds was awesome too (and he brought the wifey). Sadly, I missed the weekly Jean K. Jean (ZOOTALORS, Y'ALL!- I've downloaded all of those on Hulu and they always kill me). I'm totally stalking Hulu for GaGa now. G*ddamn! This woman plays a mean pie-anner, has some seriously weird-ass costumes, and she sings so well live it's almost a letdown to listen to her on iTunes now. She's the consummate showman... person. Is she touring? I want tickets nao plz.

ETA: Okay, that sounded "raging fangirl", but it was written at 1am after a very long, eventful day. I'm not going to be writing fic or making icons, but I'm probably boing to give the rest of her CD a listen and try and catch her live at some point, because based on what I've seen, that would be an experience to have.

2.) ZOMG! THE KANGAROOI S SIGNIFICANT. I TOTALLY CALLED IT! MY NEW OTP IS BENFORD/MARSUPIAL!

ETA: Last week's episode "White to Play" featured an AWESOME bit where Chief Wedeck revealed what he was REALLY doing in his flash forward. I don't know where you can download it, but if you manage to find it, it's worth it- those little bits of unexpected humor are what will keep the show popular, imo.

Deliciousness!

Today did not turn out the way I'd hoped- it's raining and I'm not feeling very energetic- but I managed to make a rather good meal with the roasted red pepper pesto I made last night while on the phone with [livejournal.com profile] zomgjess. Recipe here.

Oh television. I wish I knew how to quit you. )

HOLY SHIT! SETH MCFARLANE HAD A CAMEO ON "FLASHFORWARD"!

I like this show already. There are consequences to things- everyone in the world passed out for 2 minutes, 17 seconds and NOT EVERYONE WOKE UP.

IT'S NOT A CAMEO. HE'S STILL THERE. I love his voice. It's so... cheesy, yet warm and deep. Like a Chicago style pizza.

JACK. DAVENPORT. jackdavenportjackdavenportjackdavenportjackdavenport. [livejournal.com profile] loveweasleys04 It's JAAAAAACK!

TWISTY THING AT THE END.

The previews for next week include a shot of John Cho and Gabrielle Union in bed. HAWT.

Three minutes of preview. Damn, I am going to watch this show... kangaroo?

It's on again tomorrow night if you missed it. YAY!

Ooh, time for Supernatural. *LOL* Dean just said, "Eat it, Twilight!" didn't he?

Dean just tried to pimp for Castiel. *dies laughing*

MTV Movie Awards

If you're PLAYING EDWARD CULLEN THROW YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR! *rofl* Cut to RPattz looking totally baffled.

Megan Fox just totally cut Andy Samberg so ded. ETA: Even more awkward the second time. Jesus, what a bitch.
Even Jonah Hill looked stunned.
Leighton Meister laughed but then she also farts a lot, so...

CHRIS PINE TO START!
G*d I love Anna Faris.

Now Megan Fox is onstage. She scares me with her slicked back hair. Yikes. O.o
The clip was okay- not really anything I've not seen before.

Shia! :D YAY! He is cute.

SHIA DOING THE FIGHTS NOMS!

CAM AND RPATTZ WON! AND Shia can't pronounce Cam's last name. Nor can I, really, so who cares. Xp

The "Unst" in unstoppable (Oh Bradley Cooper, I love you!) And Justin Bartha is luv. Eminem, however, NOT SO MUCH.

He's singing a hater song at an awards show. Asshat.

Camera keeps going to Cameron Diaz. Because she's pretty and she's actually having fun.

Dang, Eminem just would not shut UP!

Okay, now I like Andy Samberg: "COOL GUYS DON'T LOOK AT EXPLOSIONS!"

KEYBOARD SOLO- JJ ABRAMS! *LOL*

JUST SAW QUINTO!
The mandatory Disney pubic hair check. Holy crap, Jonah.
BREAKTHROUGH MALE: TAYLOR! BINBONS! RPATTZ! JAILBAIT PRETTY!

RPATTZ WINS!

QUINTO AGAIN! YAY MTV!

Why do I have to see Kristen Stewart repeatedly? STOP, MAN!

SASHA BARON COHEN! OMG. BEST ENTRANCE EVER!!! "ICH BEIN BRUNO! AND HIS ASS!" They dropped him on Eminem and the guy had a fit.

QUINTO LAUGHED!

Seriously though. What the eff just happened there? They dropped SBC on Eminem, ruined Zac Efron's moment, and Eminem left- did they do it on purpose? I'm kinda glad he left- he's a bit of a tool, but that was a bit much. It's like they pissed him off on purpose. UNCOOL.

HARRY POTTER!
Wikkid clip!

Suck my golden popcorn dick? Seriously? I'm not having fun anymore. Xp

Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock just saved the damn show. I ♥ them so much.

RPATTZ AND KSTEW WON FOR BEST KISS! Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock were so hilarious "OMG!OMG!OMG!" Did I ever tell you, Smeyer reminds me of Sandra Bullock? Trufax. ETA: Second time was even funnier. XD

BWHAHAHAHAHA! DID YOU SEE WHAT THEY DID THUR? COCK BLOCK. YOU'RE DOING IT RIGHT. I like KStew for that.

This is deeply surreal. O.o Forest Whitaker performing "Dick in a Box" like he's doing opera. Holy crap I'm laughing again. And so is everyone else. Except Will Farrell. FAIL! ETA: Leanne Rimes and Chris Isaak are about to do it again. Leanne doing "Jizzed in my Pants" is funny as shit. Jim Carrey: "It's more than possible, it's been planned! Check out the prompter."

Hayden just explained the WTF Award. AWESOME!

RAP BATTLE. EXCELLENT.

HOLEY FLANNEL SHIRT. *ROLLING ON THE FLOOR LAUGHING MY EFFING ASS OFF!*

Leighton Meister, what the hell is up with your dress?

Miley Cyrus is a freak. Xp "I'M ON A BOAT!" WHAT THE HELL?

"The Twilight Clip" was hilarious. Truly. Xp

This is annoying- KStew is a gorgeous girl, but her hair is always a fucked up mess and she's wearing Chucks with her pretty dress. Her stylist needs to put her in stuff that's more her speed.

Holy SHIT! EDWARD FUCKING THREW JASPER ACROSS THE ROOM.

TAYLOR FURSPLODED!
EFFING KEWL!

Ben Stiller needs a haircut.

Love how they're doing an Oscar presentation parody and he's playing along. He needs a fucking HAIRCUT THOUGH.
Director. Actor. Writer. Jew. And of course 'Primate'. *ROFL*

Kiefer made me laugh. Hard. He's awesome. He's doing the best acting of his life.
But he needs to stop now... Actually, I'm lying, it's still funny.

KRISTEN BELL IS DATING ... BRAIN FREEZE. BRAIN. FREEZE! OMG- DAX SHEPHERD? HOLY CRAP.

STAR TREK FUNNY SHIT! CRAP THAT'S AWESOME!

Adult films. *rofl*

KStew won. I swear, she looks like such a slag and it's sad. Xp She tripped and dropped her award and was all awkward. Cute. SHE NEEDS TO HAVE HER HAIR BRUSHED, THOUGH.

JIM CARREY FOR THE LULZ: "I was choking in front of the world. In front of my peers. In front of the good looking kid from Twilight." "Man, I wish they'd overturn Prop 8" (WIN!) ROTFL

"There wouldn't be a swine flu if we treated the pigs better!"

I loved Anna Farris doing an "I WAS ROBBED!" face when she lost to him. She's funny as hell and needs to get recognized for being hot AND funny (yes, I have a girl crush on her, inspite of "Scary Movie").

Denzel brought his daughter onstage. He's so full of win. :)

TWILIGHT WON BEST PICTURE!

Hey look! It's on AGAIN!

Erk.

1.) Today I saw 5 apartments. One of which was pretty damn cool, except that it's located in BFE Maryland and I would not feel comfy walking around there alone at night. Ah well. Got a month and miles to go before I sleep. I'll find something.

2.) Saturday, Kiki (high school friend), her friend Terry and I went to Black Ankle Vineyards in Mt. Airy- owned by Kiki's childhood friend and her husband. My gawd, that was fun. A wine tasting, a cheese plate, and a chill on the patio later (which reminded me of Cali so bad I was in awe) we rolled home, dropped off Terry and picked up Janna (another long lost HS friend) and went out for dinner. Frozen margs and good chatter ftw.

3.) Ran out of space on my harddrive. YIKES. O.o Might try and get Bran to help me do an upgrade on the Shuttle.

4.) Funny story- I saw a cute pair of Reef flip flops with gold straps I thought would be great for cute caj, and couldn't figure out if the 7 or 8 fit better, so I bought them both. Then returned the 8's. Was getting ready to go out the other night and slid them on, only to find out I'd returned one of the 7's by mistake. That was Thursday. Finally got that sorted today. Xp

5.) Watched Kenneth Branagh in "Wallander". The man is awesome. I hate that he and Emma Thompson didn't last, but damn...

You smell like regret. Let it go.

1.) Last night was a dark and stormy night. WoooooooOOOOOOOOOHooooooo! O.o Kewl!

2.) Thanks for all the support and good wishes. My head feels a little less swollen (har.) and the large bruise on the side of my head is no longer yellow. Ew.

On Saturday morning I've got an agent showing me the house across the street- curious to see what $850K buys you these days- then Adina is coming with me while an agent she recommended shows me a bunch of places. I would so SO love to get out of here by the end of the month if possible, so if I find something in the next few weeks I'll be actively looking for someone to take my place. Someone with a drumset, who drums all night and sleeps very heavily all day, but who is very neat. ;)

3.) Last night I watched the season (Series? They've been alluding to a 9th season, which they've already shot a few episodes of but which the network hasn't greenlit.) finale of "Scrubs". Argh. It was cute- all about J.D.'s last day at the hospital.

Toward the end there was a nice long scene featuring J.D. dreaming about marrying Elliot, having kids, hanging out with the Turks and Perry and Jordan at Christmas with all of their kids, all set to "Book of Love" by Peter Gabriel, which has the power to cause even the most hard hearted bitch to weep (you might recognize it from one of the scenes toward the end of the American version of "Shall We Dance"). This hardened bitch, however, did not weep- too tired and dehydrated, apparently. It would have been nice, but it went on way, way too long and was looped and repeated, etc. Lame ending.

That said, I'm sad it's all over. It was fun, inventive, colorful, quiptastic, and managed to treat medicine and life with a generous measure of humor. Now I guess I have to buy the DVDs and watch Zach Braff go from geeky to cute over and over and over and over...

Note to self- changing the status of the entry and deleting it. Not the same thing.

Comedian Patton Oswalt, who appeared in Dollhouse Ep. 6, finally tasted the KFC Famous Bowl he rips on in his act.

Best quote: “I’m sure I’m in serious need of some moral spankitude, but guess who’s not qualified to be my rabbi?"

Three beasties in a flat in Bristol.

Okay, saw the last two episodes and WHEW! Annie. My gawd. That was, hands down, the best revenge ever.

Also watched the pilot and Guy Flanagan is growing on me- he so by-Gawd tall that it is frightening, but he's got charm. Bloody YouTube and those 10 minute pieces- very hard to keep everything straight.

So yes. Season 2 needs to start nao, plz.

ETA: Dinner was a can of soup heated in the microwave and pint of Fleur de Sel Haagen Dazs. Not in that order. I feel like I'm back in grad school and it sucks. NEW OVEN NEEDS TO COME NOW. Xp
